Can any health practice use the services provided by InTECuity?
Yes. InTECuity provides consulting to all practice types.
Are some Non-allopathic practices more likely to get reimbursement after using InTECuity’s packaged services?
While insurers should not be refusing to pay a portion of a claim to any provider who is acting within their legal scope of practice, especially if they offer coverage to out of network providers, many insurers are still denying of pending claims. Insurers are more likely to pay claims from providers they understand such as advanced practice nurses, chiropractors, psychologists, physical/occupational therapists and dieticians.
Why do providers like nutritionists, massage therapists, naturopaths, acupuncturists and lay midwives have more trouble getting their claims paid?
Insurers usually don’t understand what these providers are allowed to do and the coding available is very generic. If an insurer doesn’t understand a claim, they know they can be fined almost $11,000 per claim for paying for an illegal service. Insurers either ask for more information or they deny the claim. This requires more work on the part of the practice to assure maximum reimbursement. InTECuity can work directly with the insurers the provider wants to outsource this work. The consulting charge for is normally $125 an hour and is billed in 15 minute increments.
Can I file my own claims after InTECuity sets my practice up to bill electronically?
Yes, or we can help you find an affordable biller.
What is the cost to use a medical biller?
We have negotiated fees for medical billing at $15 a claim. Up to 4 patient visits can be filed on one claim. The average cost of outsourcing medical billing is $5 per patient visit.
How long does it normally take for InTECuity to set up a practice to begin billing?
Most delays in setting up a practice are due to staff delays in responding to InTECuity requests. With immediate responsiveness, a practice can be set up in as little as two weeks. Typically, it take up to two months to complete the practice set up due to time constraints at the practice.
